Hospice Support

Part of our ministry of presence includes volunteering to visit individuals in hospice care. In this role, we are simply seeking to build relationships with those who feel lost or alone. The relationships we form are mutually beneficial – providing comfort and improved mood for the hospice patients, with them providing us with stories and wisdom in return. We offer companionship to these individuals as they embark on their final journey.

There is also the opportunity for prayer should the patient be interested.  Studies have shown that patients show significant psychological, emotional, and physical improvements in health when they are visited by positive and caring individuals. As the population ages, there is a shortage of caregivers who are able to fill all the needs of hospice patients. Furthermore, many hospice patients have no other friends or family available to visit with them. I’m In Ministry has identified a need to spend time with individuals who might have no other companions.
